Wando Port is a gateway for trade with China and Southeast Asia, and it functions as a home port for fishing boats heading to the southwest coast and the East China Sea. In addition, along with Mokpo Port, it is a hub port for maritime traffic along the southern coast, including the Jeju-Wando ferry, for tourism support and coastal passenger transport.

Wando is famous for being far away even in Korea.

It is very difficult to get to from the metropolitan area, including Seoul.

It takes almost 6 hours from Gangnam Express Bus Terminal via Gwangju and Haenam.
However, it is rich in seafood such as abalone, and it is also good for island trips such as Jeju Island and Geomun Island.
The people are simple and affectionate. If you go 15km west past the mountain from the island, you will see Hwaheungpo Port. From here, you can also go to other islands such as Bogildo.
You can enter Wando only by crossing the large bridge, Wando Bridge, which is a very large suspension bridge. ,
There are not many routes, but there are local buses.
This place is famous for seafood such as abalone, and many tourists visit because it is cheap.
