2 Tourist tips when visiting
Jongmyo, along with Sajikdan, demonstrates the spirit of Joseon, which placed great importance on respect for ancestors.
As a tourist, visiting may feel unfamiliar with traditional Korean culture.
It is located in the center of Seoul, so it is easily accessible, but foreigners, especially Westerners, may find it foreign, and it is a good place for those who like a quiet and peaceful atmosphere.
In particular, those who like music may be interested in and greatly inspired by the ‘Jongmyo Jeryeak’ played during ancestral rites.
