1 Introduction to Pigeon Jeju Island.
Cheonjeyeon Waterfall is a waterfall formed when Jungmuncheon, which starts from Hallasan Mountain, flows into the sea. It is located in Jungmun Tourist Complex, and is connected to three tiers of waterfalls: upper, middle, and lower, near Jungmun Tourist Complex and under Cheonjegyo Bridge.
Cheonjeyeon Falls is divided into three waterfalls. The first waterfall falls from the columnar joint cliff into Cheonjeyeon (pond), and the second and third waterfalls are formed as the water from Cheonjeyeon flows lower.
The first waterfall is 22m high and the Cheonjeyeon water depth is 21m. During the dry season, the waterfall does not fall, but the columnar joint rock walls and emerald pond are very beautiful.
There is a legend that cold water pours down the ceiling of the rock cave near the first waterfall, and if you touch it during Baekjung and Chuseo, all your illnesses will disappear. However, swimming is currently prohibited, so you cannot enter.
A subtropical forest has formed on the left and right sides of the waterfall, where rare plants grow in Korea, and various evergreen trees, vines, and shrubs grow lushly.
2 Tourist tips when visiting
Jeju Island is one of the most beloved and sought-after tourist destinations by Koreans. It is about an hour away from Seoul by plane, and there are regular passenger ships from Wando, Mokpo, Busan, etc., and of course, there are ferry ships.
People from children to the elderly love Jeju Island and never get tired of visiting it often.
Even if you don’t climb Hallasan, the highest peak of the volcanic island, you can find comfort in just walking around the coastal villages.
Among them, Seogwipo in Namjeju is visited by many people.
This is because it is located in the southernmost part of Korea and has many exotic landscapes.
Therefore, many tourists from Southeast Asia, including China, visit in addition to Koreans in Korea.
In Seogwipo, there is Cheonjeyeon Falls, which has a similar name to Cheonjiyeon Falls.
Cheonjeyeon Falls can be seen with the nearby Yeomiji Botanical Garden. When you hear the sound of water falling from this waterfall in the summer, you feel like the heat is quickly disappearing.
However, the path to Seonimgyo Bridge is flat and has no steps, making it convenient for wheelchair users, but the path to the waterfall has stairs and is inaccessible.
