Bomunsa (Temple) has a rock that grants wishes.

1 Introduction to Pigeon Valley Falls.

Seokmodo is located in the southwest of Ganghwado Island, Incheon Metropolitan City, and is famous as a place of prayer for fulfilling wishes.
Bomunsa, founded during the ancient Silla period, is considered one of the three major maritime Guanyin sacred sites in Korea, along with Naksansa Temple in Yangyang and Boriam Temple in Namhae.
This place is famous for the Eyebrow Rock on the mountainside. There is a legend that if you pray sincerely, one wish will come true, and many people come to pray for the New Year at the beginning of the year.

In 2017, the Seokmodaegyo Bridge opened, so you can drive from the mainland to Seokmodo Island, where Bomunsa Temple is located.

The West Sea is clearly visible from the front of Bomunsa Temple, and the evening sunset is beautiful.

From the parking lot at the entrance to the temple, you have to walk up a steep road for about 15 minutes to get to the main hall.

Eyebrow Rock is named for the rock that juts out from the cliff, resembling an eyebrow, and the image of Buddha is carved in relief at the location of the pupil.

This is the Eyebrow Rock at Bomunsa Temple in Ganghwa Island.

2 Tourist tips when visiting

Korea is well known as a country where religions have grown naturally.
Among them, Buddhism was introduced to Korea about 2,000 years ago, and there are numerous temples in the country, which are located in places with beautiful scenery.

Among them, about 3 places are known as Buddhist holy sites, and I have been to all of them.
(1. Bomunsa Temple in Ganghwa Island, 2. Boriam Temple in Namhae County, 3. Hongjeam Temple in Yangyang County)
These 3 places are places where you can achieve whatever you want, but it seems that people’s sincerity is the most important.

If you walk from Bomunsa Temple and climb the stairs for about 30 minutes, you will reach Nunseopbawi Rock on the mountainside.

A relief of Sakyamuni Buddha greets hikers with a kind look.

Your mind will feel at ease, and when you look out at the West Sea spread out before your eyes, you will feel a great sense of freedom.

Since this place is far from big cities like Seoul, it has a quiet and cozy feel, and you can pass through it in one day.

However, even on weekdays, there is a lot of traffic, so you should consider traffic congestion.
