This Jincheon Nongdari is a beautiful stone bridge built over the Seogcheon Stream that flows in front of Gultimaul, Gugok-ri, Munbaek-myeon.

As a local tangible cultural asset, it is 93.6m long, 3.6m wide, and 1.2m in piers, and the inner width between piers is about 80cm.

The bridge was made by stacking small stones like fish scales and then stretching them out in the shape of a centipede, and it consists of a total of 28 sections.

When stacking stones, lime was not applied, but was simply stacked. Despite being less than 1m wide, it is sturdy and maintains its original shape without being washed away by rainy seasons.

This bridge is large in scale and has unique construction techniques, and it has pavilions, a walking path, and a waterside deck connected to Chopyeong Reservoir, and the mysterious shape of the bridge blends well with the surrounding scenery.

It was originally built with 28 sections, applying the 28 constellations of oriental astronomy.

The piers were built by stacking red stones of sandstone like fish scales, and then a top stone was placed on top.

The characteristics of this bridge are the shape of the piers and the construction method. The stones are stacked so that their roots are connected to each other, and the stones are stacked without adding lime to fill the inside.

The width and thickness become narrower as they go up, making it less affected by water. It is also maintained sturdily without being washed away during the rainy season. The top stone is specially selected to show off its beautiful pattern.

It was also selected as one of the 100 Beautiful Roads in Korea by the Ministry of Construction and Transportation, and was selected as one of the 100 Excellent Local Resources in the 1st Local Resources Competition for Creating a Good Place to Live hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the National Balanced Development Committee.

The bridge serves as a means of communication between villages.

Therefore, it has been important when conveying news since ancient times.

In addition to this function, the Nongdari Bridge here was built one by one to represent the constellations in the east, west, south, and north, as the Big Dipper, in the awe of the people of old.

Therefore, it is composed of 28 rocks, making it amazing.

It matches well with the surrounding scenery, and is well preserved without damaging the nature.

However, there is nothing else to see besides the natural scenery, and if you want to stay or eat, you have to go to Jincheon-eup, which is about 10km away.

If you visit quietly with a couple or lovers and walk on the stone bridge, you can think back to the thoughts of the ancient people about the sky.
