1 Introduction to Unmunsa (Temple).

Unmunsa (Temple) is a temple located in Hogeosan (Mountain), Sinwon-ri, Unmun-myeon, Cheongdo-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do.


It is a branch temple of Donghwasa, the headquarters of the 9th district of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism.


It was named after Unmunmuneon, the founder of the Unmun Order, a Zen master from the Tang Dynasty in China.


It is a temple for nuns, and there is Unmun Sangha University, a Buddhist university specializing in nun education.

Among the affiliated hermitages, Sariam, the prayer hall of Nabanjonja, is the most famous.
Admission to the cultural heritage is free, but if you come by car, you have to pay a parking fee.
