Milk, along with eggs, is a complete food that contains all the nutrients humans need, including amino acids. It is self-evident that it should contain all the necessary ingredients, as it is the first food for mammals to become adults.

1 Famous Wording
The words of Winston Churchill, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, “Milk is the best investment for future generations,” are also quite convincing.
Milk was tabooed by the aristocrats of the Joseon Dynasty, believing that it was against human nature to take away food for calves. Some people ate it as a kind of porridge made by adding rice flour to milk, called tarakjuk, when they were sick.
The United States, Argentina, South America, Australia, and New Zealand, where dairy farming was developed, have emerged as livestock powerhouses, not because of their vast pastures and labor, but because they bred their cattle for dairy cows from the beginning.
Milk has been processed into useful food for humans through various processing methods, such as raw milk, commonly called raw milk, dried powdered milk, boiled condensed milk, and reduced milk, which is made into milk again for supply and demand control. This is separated into whey and milk protein through centrifugation at a factory, and among them, butter can be produced from lactose and cheese can be made from milk protein.
Na Hoon-a’s songs ‘On that green meadow~~’ and ‘If you walk along the pasture road at night…’ can be said to be songs that well express this pastoral scenery.
2 Use of Milk products
Milk is a type of livestock product that is consumed directly, but it is also an important raw material used as a material in food processing.
Most of the raw milk in Korea is milked from Holstein cows and supplied to general consumers after going through processes such as sterilization at a milk processing plant using a dedicated milking truck.
In the past, they were used as work cattle to work in fields and rice paddies or pull ox carts, but now most Korean cattle are used as beef cattle to make meat in barns or as dairy cattle to make milk.
Goat milk was once popular as an alternative to lactose intolerance, so the Saanen breed is raised because it produces a lot of milk, and black goats are also raised as meat goats.
3 Export/Import
Starting in 2026, with the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA), raw milk will be imported duty-free and tariffs will not be imposed, leading to an overabundance of imported milk, which will inevitably hit not only dairy farmers but also dairy processing companies.
Since the feed cost of domestic milk accounts for approximately 59.5% of the total production, dairy farmers are worried.
Along with the Jersey breed and the Giant breed, the Holstein from the Netherlands is the most popular breed of dairy cows that produce milk. It is said that there are also dairy cows with good bloodlines that produce about 60 to 80 kg of milk per day.
