Pigeon Valley Falls(Bidulginang Pogpo)

1 Introduction to Pigeon Valley Falls.

Bidulginang Falls is a basalt erosion valley located in Daehwasan-ri, Yeongbuk-myeon, and is located at the end of Bulmucheon, which originates from Bulmusan Mountain.

The name Bidulginang Falls comes from the fact that the surrounding terrain resembles a hollow pocket like a pigeon’s nest.

Another theory is that it is called Bidulginang because pigeons have been living in the caves around the waterfall since ancient times.

During the Korean War, it was used as a shelter for villagers and a resting place for soldiers because the bushes were thick and not easily visible from the outside.

However, it is currently protected as a natural monument in 2012, and its beauty and scenic beauty are shared with many tourists.

Bidulginang Falls is geologically and topographically characterized by erosion landforms such as erosion caves, valleys, head erosion, and waterfalls, and various geological structures such as columnar joints and plate joints can also be seen.

In addition, it can be said to have academic value because you can observe the units of lava that flowed in the Hantangang River at a glance.

Bidulginang Falls is a geological and ecological park located in Pocheon. It is a place where you can see the spectacular view of columnar joints and a waterfall with blue water falling down, and it is also considered one of the eight scenic views of the Hantangang River.
